Blog or Site? Which works best, agreed to update daily

Hello Guys,
I am curious and at the same time I am confused to too.

What I want to ask is which is better blog or hosted site in my case.

Doing some calculations for Blog = No cost

Doing some calculations for Site = Domain 3$ and Hosting 7$ =10$/month.

Now Pros and Cons:

Blog Pros = No cost so no risk -- Blog Cons = Less Control

Site Pros = Good control over site and statistics also helps -- Site Cons = Navigation is difficult.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Now what is important to me is your suggesstion and answer to my these two questions please.

First: How to get more control over blog, I have seen many superb blogs like blog4bloggers and its superb so how to do like that and also how people can present blog on sites I mean on .com.

Second: How can I navigate if I update it daily that means around 30/month and 365/year. So what is the best way to do it, arrange it , show it. Is there any software also that can help me but in the starting I orefer doing al that manually to learn more and how to put ads between the content in blog

I know I have asked several questions and I thankyou for answering it and I am sure this post will help many of the newbie's too.
