Manually Install a Firefox Add-on
Here is a quick and easy way to install a Firefox add-on manually.
Manually Install a Firefox Extension
To manually install a Firefox extension into Firefox, download the add-on to your computer. If the download option isn't available, right click on the extension install link and select "Save Link As..". Be sure not to change the file extension. A Firefox extension will usually be a .XPI file.
Next, go to the Firefox drop down menus at the top of the browser. Select File > Open File then select the addon.xpi file and click on Open. The Software Installation window will appear, click install, restart Firefox.
Alternative Method
Go to the Firefox drop down menus at the top of the browser. Select Tools then Add-ons. Minimize Firefox so that only the Add-ons manager window is showing and drag the addon.xpi file onto the Add-ons window. The Software Installation window will appear, click install, restart Firefox.

Manually Install a Firefox Theme
To manually install a Firefox theme into Firefox, download the theme to your computer. If the download option isn't available, right click on the theme's install link and select "Save Link As..". Be sure not to change the file extension. A Firefox theme will usually be a .JAR file.
Next, open the Firefox themes manager by going to Tools > Add-ons > Themes. Drag the theme file from wherever you downloaded it to onto the Themes Manager. The installation window will appear. Follow the prompts to install the theme, select your theme, then restart Firefox.
Selecting a Theme
Go to the Firefox drop down menus at the top of the browser. Select Tools > Add-ons > Themes > select a theme, click on Use Theme, then restart Firefox. Your selected theme will be visible when Firefox is restarted.

Install Add-on Toolbar Button
A quick and easy way to manually install Firefox add-ons is to get the Install Toolbar Button. The Install Toolbar Button offers you a way to quickly and easily install add-ons from your computer. Once installed, go to View > Toolbars > Customize and drag the Install Toolbar Button to the toolbar of your choice (excluding the Bookmarks toolbar).
To use, simply click on the Install button, the install add-on window will open, browse to where your add-on is located, select open and the "Software Installation" window will appear allowing you to install the selected add-on whether it be a theme or extension.
