First $100 day!
I think it is easier to make more once you "get the ball rolling"... your visitors bring in more visitors, hopefully, and return to your website.
But besides just increasing traffic, I added a lot more quality articles and updated the site more often. Instead of just once a month, I started updating it weekly. I keep mailing lists and notify people of new changes. Some people said it was easier to make more as you go along because you get more experience... that's true. When I first started out, I just slapped the code on and forgot about it. Now I monitor my earnings and make changes if needed. I did a lot of playing with the placement and design. According to Google analytics, 32% of my traffic is return visitors.... I noticed that just about every time I made a change, my earnings would go up for a few days. I'm guessing that return visitors get ad blindness and start to notice the ads wehn I move them around. But to increase my earnings significantly again, I know I'll need more traffic. I actually started this site several years ago, as a small hobby site.... It wasn't until last year that I put Adsense on it and got serious about webmastering (is that a word?) It also wasn't until last year that I started getting over 1,000 visits/day. Guess updating your site helps with your traffic, lol... and all the new content, links, and stuff I've added have helped too. |
