The Infamous Secret To Google AdSense
 

If you have considered using Google AdSense to generate revenue for your website, you have probably found countless ebooks that promise to tell you all the AdSense secrets, which will allow you to make more money. Unfortunately, there really are no AdSense secrets. There is nothing in those ebooks that you can’t find at any webmaster forum, or at the Google AdSense site itself.

Profiting from Google AdSense just takes a little research and time. The only AdSense secret you need to know is how to find high paying keywords. What you are looking at is the Cost Per Click, or CPC. This is the amount of money that the advertisers are paying for each keyword. But, you should be aware that you will be sharing this amount with Google. You only get a portion of the amount that each advertiser bids when their ads are clicked on from your website. How much Google pays you for each of those clicks is, however, a secret until it shows up in your logs as a click.

When you build a site around high paying keywords, you will get the best return on your investment - your investment being your time and the cost of your web hosting. If you have someone else design your site or write your content, the cost of those services is also considered an investment. This is not an AdSense secret. This is just good, basic common sense.

Content, Content, Content

The more content pages you have, the more Google AdSense ads are shown, and the chances of getting click throughs are higher.

Update your site with fresh content on a regular basis. This doesn’t mean that you change your existing pages - unless you are fine tuning them to receive more relevant ads from Google or for search engine optimization. It simply means that you continually add content.

Search engines like websites that are frequently updated. The more traffic the search engines send to your site, the more opportnities your AdSense listings will be clicked.

When you think you have enough content on your site, add more content. Then add some more content. After your done adding more content, well, you get the idea.

Location, Location, Location

The placement of your Google AdSense ads is another AdSense secret - or so the author’s of the Google AdSense secrets ebooks would have you believe. Place the ads on the right hand side of your page, using the skyscraper layout. Again, this isn’t really a secret. It is a proven fact. Google even states that these types of ad layouts in that position get the best results. It’s right there in their tutorial. No secret there.

Secret? What secret?

As you can see, there are no AdSense secrets. Simply use your common sense. Read the terms of service at Google, and read through their tutorial. If you have more questions, visit your favorite webmaster’s forum and ask the other members how they are doing it. Read through the posts concerning Google AdSense - you will learn quite a bit there, and people will tell you what is working for them - without charging you.

The beauty of Google AdSense is that we are not in competition with each other. It’s a lot like Black Jack. You may sit at the same table with other player’s, but you aren’t playing against them, you are playing against the dealer. In this case, the dealer is Google, and Google is a very helpful dealer willing to share the profits with you!
